DALI Superintendent Summits
The NaviGate Prepared team participated in two District Administration Leadership Institute (DALI) Superintendent Summits in the month of October and is going strong throughout 2018. DALI is an organization that provides unique opportunities for school leaders and top solution providers to interact and collaborate to develop strategies that address challenges and uncover opportunities for school districts.
The three-day DALI Superintendents Summit allow NaviGate Prepared exclusive networking opportunities with superintendents and key administrators across the country to forge strong relationships and facilitate discussions around school safety solutions and best practices.
DALI Summit Experience
The Superintendent Summit is focused around emphasizing the professional development and solutions-driven strategies for K12 education success by discovering universal issues and developing different ideas for solving these issues. The content for these sessions was created from sponsor specific expertise, superintendent input and response and networking between sponsors and superintendents. The three-day event consisted of a General Session Presentation, Roundtable Session and Drill Down Session.
General Session Presentation
Thom Jones, NaviGate Prepared General Manager presented, Expecting the Unexpected – School Safety Solutions Before You Need Them, to an audience of superintendents looking for school safety solutions in their district. The presentation focused on the importance of being prepared so that schools respond versus react to an emergency. Watch the presentation to see how making school safety a shared responsibility, practicing your plan through drills and collaboration with first responders can prepare your school’s emergency preparedness program – before a crisis occurs.
School Safety Drills – Are We Simply Going Through the Motions? led by Chris Porter, Business Development Manager, encouraged discussion about the participant’s biggest school safety challenges, successes and the communication methods they use during an emergency. The superintendents left the session with tools for improving their drills so they can truly assess the validity of their safety plan, while ensuring that staff and students are prepared for an emergency.
Drill Down Session
The final session of the DALI event focused on “next steps” discussion with superintendents and any other key questions sparked by Summit conversations. Participants left the event with greater access to resources and tools, strong connections and relationships and expanded ideas and solutions around elevating the success of K12 schools.
We look forward to the upcoming DALI experiences in the future to continue to share school safety resources and solutions to schools across the country!
